It helps them sequence the story in the proper order, it stimulates their small motor skills and brings them delight as they present their &#8220;character&#8221; and character voices.  This simple chant is a way for you to prepare your child or class of children for finger play.</p>
<p>First, rub your hands together very quickly to make a swishing sound.  Then you say and the children repeat&#8230;</p>
<p>I got a story in my hands and it wants to come out!</p>
<p>I got a story in my hands and it wants to come out!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m gonna put my story in my feet! (<span style="color: #333399;">touch  feet</span>)</p>
<p>I&#8217;m gonna put my story in my knees! (<span style="color: #333399;">touch knees)</span></p>
<p>I&#8217;m gonna put my story in my hips! (<span style="color: #333399;">touch hips</span>)</p>
<p>I&#8217;m gonna put my story in my tummy! (<span style="color: #333399;">touch tummy</span>)</p>
<p>I&#8217;m gonna put my story in my chest! (<span style="color: #333399;">pound chest</span>)</p>
